O2 also own another broadband service provider although they have not made the connection clear in the press or on their website. While O2 are now owned by Telefonica they have acquired the Be Broadband service provider for £50 million which also trades as Be Unlimited, Be and Be Un Limited in the UK. Having only formed in October 2004 the company has made terrific strides in a relatively short time.

While the PlusNet service continues to pick up awards, Be Broadband are keeping up with developments and are at the forefront when it comes to the fastest broadband services.

Over the past few years Be Broadband has come from nowhere and taken the UK broadband market by storm. The acqusition by O2 has meant little change but the company now has access to substantially more funding. Be Broadband has a bright future and the O2 connection made more public soon.
